The most-used Unicode planes

Plane 0 is the Basic Multilingual Plane and contains most modern writing systems and common symbols. Plane 1 contains many historic scripts, musical notation, and emoji. Planes 2 and 3 contain additional ideographs, while planes 15 and 16 are reserved for private use.
