How to Type ¶
Windows
With a numeric keypad, hold Alt and type 0182, then release Alt.
Microsoft Word
Type 00B6, then Alt+X. Word converts the hexadecimal Unicode value into the symbol.
Mac
Press Control+Command+Space to open Character Viewer, search for the symbol name, and insert it. Copy and paste is often faster for occasional use.
Chromebook and Linux
On supported systems, press Ctrl+Shift+U, type b6, and press Enter. Chromebook users can also use the on-screen keyboard or copy the symbol.
iPhone and Android
Long-press related keyboard keys when the symbol is built in. Otherwise, copy it from this page and paste it into the destination app.
